Digital hygiene bingo

Do you know the game bingo?

It's a fairly simple game that involves marking numbers called out by a caller. Since the boards are all different, whoever is the first to get and mark all of them wins. In our version of Bingo, instead of numbers, we have digital hygiene rules. The caller reads them out randomly from a list (or draws them cut out from a table), explaining their meaning along the way, and participants mark the healthy habits on their boards. The game not only reinforces knowledge but can also be the start of a conversation about using technological devices in a healthy way, e.g., through questions like:

  • Which of the marked rules do you follow, and which ones do you want to work on?
  • What can you do to implement them?
  • Which ones are most difficult for us and why?
  • Which rule do you think is the most important?

The downloadable file below contains a list of digital hygiene rules for the caller (for random reading or cutting out) and boards for the participants. We have created 25 boards with school classes in mind, but the game is also suitable for smaller groups – from just two participants. It's a simple and enjoyable way to introduce and reinforce the topic of digital hygiene in class or at home.
